NovaStar TB40 LED Multimedia Player Overview
The NovaStar TB40 is a third-generation Taurus series LED multimedia player designed for full-color LED displays. It combines media playback, content publishing and LED sending in one compact controller, so programs and display settings can be managed from a computer, mobile phone, tablet, local network or the NovaStar cloud platform.
In short: choose the TB40 when you need one device for both scheduled asynchronous playback and real-time synchronous HDMI input. It is suitable for retail LED signs, digital billboards, transportation displays, corporate screens and other fixed LED display installations.

Core Features and Benefits
- Dual-mode operation: switches between synchronous HDMI content and asynchronous stored programs, automatically or on a schedule.
- Multi-screen synchronization: NTP time synchronization is standard; GPS or RF time synchronization is available when the specified module is installed.
- Flexible content control: publish programs and adjust displays from a PC, mobile device, LAN or supported cloud platform.
- Remote management: enables centralized content distribution and monitoring for Internet-connected LED displays.
- Reliable connectivity: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi AP and Wi-Fi Sta can run at the same time, with a separate Gigabit Ethernet port for publishing and screen control. A 4G module is optional and not included.
- Smart brightness control: two sensor connectors support a brightness sensor or a temperature and humidity sensor.
- Integrated media support: HDMI 1.3 input with loop output, 3.5 mm audio output and USB 3.0 drive playback.
How the TB40 Is Used
- Connect the TB40 to the LED receiving-card network and configure the screen in the compatible NovaStar control software.
- Connect to the device through Gigabit Ethernet, or through the Wi-Fi hotspot, for local setup.
- Publish scheduled media for asynchronous playback, or use the HDMI input for live synchronous content.
- Use the cloud publishing and monitoring platform when centralized remote management is required.
Who Is the NovaStar TB40 For?
The TB40 is a practical choice for integrators and operators who need a compact LED display controller and media player for commercial advertising screens, information displays, chain stores, transport hubs, campuses and corporate signage. Before ordering, confirm that the 1,300,000-pixel capacity and the 4096 × 4096 pixel screen limit (23,040 × 4096 for ultra-long screens) match your LED cabinet configuration, and check the 2 Gigabit output ports against your cabinet layout.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the NovaStar TB40?
The NovaStar TB40 is an LED multimedia player that integrates content playback and LED sending. It can run scheduled programs asynchronously or display a live HDMI source synchronously.
How many pixels can the TB40 control?
The TB40 supports up to 1,300,000 pixels. A single screen can be up to 4096 × 4096 pixels, and ultra-long screens can reach 23,040 × 4096 pixels. The practical limit also depends on how the cabinets are split across its two Gigabit Ethernet output ports.
Can the TB40 accept a 4K HDMI input?
No. The TB40 decodes 4K video from internal storage or a USB drive, but its HDMI 1.3 input and loop output support a maximum of 1920×1200@60Hz. For a live 4K source, scale it with a NovaStar video processor before the player.
Does the TB40 need an external power supply?
Yes. The TB40 takes DC 12 V, 2 A from the supplied external adapter. Maximum power consumption is 18 W and NovaStar recommends a 25 W supply.
Does the NovaStar TB40 support Wi-Fi?
Yes. The TB40 supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi AP and Wi-Fi Sta at the same time, alongside its Gigabit Ethernet ports. A 4G module is optional and is not included with the player.
