Overview
Novastar MRV210-3 is a full color LED display receiving card from the NovaStar MRV210 (Nova M3) series. It is the card to choose when your LED cabinet uses the 24-group data mode: a single MRV210-3 drives 16 groups of RGBR data, 20 groups of RGB data or 24 groups of RGB data, plus 64 groups of serial data that can be expanded to 128 groups — with high gray scale and high refresh rate in both high-brightness and low-brightness mode.
Working with NovaLCT and NovaCLB, the card performs pixel-by-pixel brightness and chromaticity calibration, so every LED gets its own calibration coefficient and colour discrepancies disappear. It also reads its configuration file back for cloning, monitors its own temperature and the module supply voltage without extra peripherals, shows a pre-stored picture when the signal is lost, and keeps the screen running through Ethernet loop backup. Every hub port carries a VCC pin, so the LED module can supply power to the control system directly, and the CE-EMC (EMC Class A) hardware design keeps the card stable on demanding sites.
Price: $18.00 per card (regular price $18.50). 676 pcs in stock, ready to ship. SKU: NOVASTAR-MRV210-3. Net weight: 58.4 g per card.

Features of the Novastar MRV210-3 full color receiving card
NOVASTAR MRV210-3 is a full color receiving card with 24-group data mode of Nova M3. Its characteristics are as follows:
- Single card outputs 16-group of RGBR data;
- Single card outputs 20-group of RGB data;
- Single card outputs 24-group of RGB data;
- Single card outputs 64-group of serial data, can be expanded to 128-group;
- Single card supports resolution of 256 × 220;
- Support pixel by pixel brightness and chromaticity calibration. Brightness and chromaticity calibration coefficients for each LED;
- Support high gray-scale and high-refresh in the high and low brightness mode;
- Support 3D image output when working with a sending card that supports 3D function;
- Support configuration file read back, so the card parameters can be saved to the local computer for backup or cloning;
- Support temperature monitoring without additional peripherals;
- Support power supply voltage detection;
- Support Ethernet cable communication status detection;
- Support pre-stored image setting. The image displayed at startup, when the Ethernet cable is disconnected or when there is no video signal can be customized;
- Support loop backup. The receiving card and sending card form a loop via the main and backup line connections, so the screen can still display the image normally if a fault occurs on the lines;
- Dual backup of the application program, avoiding the problem that the receiving card may get stuck due to a program update exception;
- Each of port has VCC PIN, the module can power supply to the control system;
- Comply with RoHS standard;
- Comply with EU CE-EMC (EMC Class A) standard.
MRV210-3 data modes and scan types
The MRV210-3 can run in four data output modes. Match the mode to the scan type of your LED module before you configure the card in NovaLCT:
| Data mode | Scan type | Remarks |
| 16 groups of parallel RGBR data | 1/32 scan | R4B, R8B, R12B and R16B can be reused as the E signal |
| 20 groups of parallel RGB data | 1/16 scan | Pin 9 outputs the Ctrl signal |
| 24 groups of parallel RGB data | 1/4 scan | 24-group data mode of the Nova M3 platform |
| 64 groups of serial data | — | Can be expanded to 128 groups |
Applications of the Novastar MRV210-3 receiving card
The MRV210-3 is a general receiving card for indoor and outdoor LED display cabinets, and it is widely used in:
- Indoor fixed LED display screens and LED video walls;
- Outdoor fixed LED billboards, signage and stadium screens;
- Rental LED screens and stage LED backdrops;
- Cabinets built with 16, 20 or 24-group data modules that need per-pixel calibration and a high refresh rate for on-camera use.
Installation and setup
The MRV210-3 is configured from a Windows PC running NovaStar NovaLCT over the Gigabit Ethernet chain of the screen. Brightness and chromaticity calibration is carried out with NovaLCT together with NovaCLB, and the resulting coefficients are stored for each LED. The card reads its own configuration file back, so one configured cabinet can be cloned to the whole screen in minutes.
Two indicators on the board tell you the state of the card at a glance:
| Indicator | Color | Status | Meaning |
| Running | Green | Flashing once every 1s | The receiving card is functioning normally. Ethernet cable connection is normal and video source input is available |
| Running | Green | Flashing once every 3s | Ethernet cable connection is abnormal |
| Running | Green | Flashing 3 times every 0.5s | Ethernet cable connection is normal, but no video source input is available |
| Running | Green | Flashing once every 0.2s | The receiving card failed to load the program in the application area and is now using the backup program |
| Running | Green | Flashing 8 times every 0.5s | A redundancy switchover occurred on the Ethernet port and the loop backup has taken effect |
| Power | Red | Always on | The power supply is normal |

FAQ about the Novastar MRV210-3 LED display receiving card
What is the Novastar MRV210-3?
The Novastar MRV210-3 is a full color LED display receiving card in the NovaStar MRV210 (Nova M3) series. It receives the video signal from a sending card over Gigabit Ethernet and drives the data lines of the LED module inside the cabinet. It is the variant used for 24-group data mode cabinets.
How many data groups does the MRV210-3 support?
One MRV210-3 supports 16 groups of RGBR data (1/32 scan), 20 groups of RGB data (1/16 scan) or 24 groups of RGB data (1/4 scan), plus 64 groups of serial data that can be expanded to 128 groups.
How many pixels can one MRV210-3 card drive?
Up to 256 × 220 pixels per card, which is enough for one LED cabinet at most common indoor and outdoor pixel pitches.
Which software is used to configure the MRV210-3?
NovaStar NovaLCT is used for configuration and playback control. Pixel-by-pixel brightness and chromaticity calibration is performed with NovaLCT together with NovaStar NovaCLB, and the calibration coefficients are stored for every LED.
Does the MRV210-3 support monitoring and backup?
Yes. Card temperature and power supply voltage can be monitored without extra peripherals, the Ethernet cable communication status is reported by the running indicator, and the configuration file can be read back to a PC. Loop backup between the receiving card and the sending card keeps the screen playing if a cable fails, and a dual copy of the application program prevents lock-ups during firmware updates.
Is the MRV210-3 CE-EMC compliant?
Yes. The MRV210-3 complies with the EU CE-EMC (EMC Class A) standard and with RoHS.
What is the difference between the MRV210-1, MRV210-2, MRV210-3 and MRV210-4?
All four models are NovaStar MRV210 series receiving cards that share the same data modes and electrical specification, and they are offered in different hardware configurations so that the card fits different cabinet and hub board layouts. Send us your LED module details (data groups, scan type and hub interface) and we will confirm which variant your cabinet needs.
How fast can the MRV210-3 be shipped?
The card is in stock (676 pcs) and orders are processed within 2 working days. DHL express is the default shipping method; EMS, UPS, FedEx and TNT are used when DHL is not available at the destination.
