The A10s Pro is a receiving (receiver) card, so it works as part of a complete NovaStar control chain:
- Sending cards and controllers: any NovaStar sending card or controller that supports the functions you need, such as HDR, 3D or individual gamma adjustment. The A10s Pro is widely used with NovaStar MX series control systems and MCTRL-series controllers.
- Control software: NovaLCT V5.4.0 or later is required for Image Booster. Bit error detection, firmware readback, parameter readback and dual card status monitoring need NovaLCT V5.2.0 or later.
- Driver ICs: the visual result of Image Booster and 22bit+ depends on the LED driver IC fitted to your modules, so confirm the driver IC before ordering.
- Cabinet and hub board: the card uses high-density connectors, and the gap between the A10s Pro and the hub board is 5.0 mm – NovaStar recommends a 5 mm copper pillar. The mounting holes have GND enabled.
How to install and set up the NovaStar A10s Pro
- Mount the card. Power the cabinet down and fit the A10s Pro onto the hub board using the high-density connectors and a 5 mm copper pillar.
- Connect the data path. Link the Gigabit Ethernet input from the sending card or from the previous cabinet in the chain. The A10s Pro has two Gigabit ports, so daisy-chaining and loop backup are both supported.
- Power the card. Feed it from the cabinet 5 V rail (rated input DC 3.3V – 5.5V, 0.5A).
- Configure in NovaLCT. Set the cabinet resolution, scan mode, driver IC and data routing, keeping the load within 512 x 512 @ 60Hz per card.
- Calibrate. Upload the calibration coefficients and run a full-grayscale calibration so brightness and chroma are uniform across the whole screen.
- Verify. Check the indicators: a green running LED flashing once per second means the card, the cable and the video source are all good, and a steady red power LED confirms normal power input. Then use the mapping function to confirm the topology.
