NovaStar MRV532 LED Receiving Card Overview

The NovaStar MRV532 is an LED receiving card for PWM-based LED display modules. One card supports up to 512×512 pixels at 60Hz with an 8-bit video source, or 512×384 pixels at 60Hz with a 10-bit or 12-bit source. It is suited to fine-pitch, rental and fixed LED displays that require stable data transmission, accurate color and flexible image mapping.

The MRV532 uses 10 standard HUB320F connectors. It can output up to 40 groups of RGB real-pixel data, 40 groups of three-color sub-pixel data or 30 groups of four-color sub-pixel data. In a compatible NovaStar system, it also supports pixel-level calibration, seam correction, low-latency operation, 3D output and image rotation.

Key Features and Display Benefits

  • Pixel-level brightness and chroma calibration: Works with NovaStar’s high-precision calibration system to reduce brightness and color differences between pixels.
  • Seam correction: Supports automatic or manual correction of brightness differences at module or cabinet seams when used with the NovaStar TU series.
  • Dark-line and bright-line adjustment: Applies seam-related corrections quickly so the result can be checked immediately.
  • Low latency: Video-source latency can be reduced to one frame when the LED module uses a driver IC with built-in RAM.
  • 3D output: Available when the connected controller supports 3D functions.
  • 90-degree image rotation: Rotates the display image to 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees for portrait and non-standard cabinet layouts.

Compatibility and Applications

The NovaStar MRV532 receiving card is intended for NovaStar control systems and LED modules using PWM driver ICs. Typical applications include fine-pitch indoor displays, rental LED cabinets, fixed-installation video walls and cabinets that need rotated image mapping.

Compatibility depends on the LED module driver IC, HUB interface, controller model, firmware and cabinet configuration file. Confirm these items before replacing an existing receiving card. Installation and Configuration Checklist

  1. Verify the LED module driver IC and confirm the controller supports the required bit depth and refresh rate.
  2. Confirm the module uses the correct HUB320F interface and pin mapping.
  3. Connect the receiving-card power input within the specified DC 3.8V to 5.5V range.
  4. Load the correct NovaStar cabinet file, then configure the scan mode, data groups and display mapping.
  5. Run pixel calibration and seam correction after the LED display is assembled.
  6. Test grayscale, rotation, low-latency and 3D functions required by the project before final commissioning.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the NovaStar MRV532?

The MRV532 is a NovaStar LED receiving card that receives display data from a compatible controller and distributes it to PWM-based LED modules through 10 HUB320F connectors.

What is the maximum resolution of one MRV532 card?

One MRV532 supports up to 512×512 pixels at 60Hz with an 8-bit video source. With a 10-bit or 12-bit source, the maximum is 512×384 pixels at 60Hz.

Does the MRV532 support pixel calibration?

Yes. It supports NovaStar pixel-level brightness and chroma calibration to improve brightness consistency and color uniformity across the LED display.

Can the MRV532 rotate the image?

Yes. It supports image rotation at 0, 90, 180 and 270 degrees, subject to the connected system configuration.

Does the MRV532 support low latency and 3D output?

Yes. Latency can be reduced to one frame when the module driver IC has built-in RAM. 3D output requires a controller that supports 3D functions.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm the LED module driver IC, HUB interface and pin mapping, controller model, firmware, cabinet file, required bit depth and per-card pixel load. Contact us with these details if you need compatibility assistance.
