NovaStar A8s Pro Features
Multi-Layer Grayscale Calibration
Used with NovaStar’s high-precision calibration system, the A8s Pro supports conventional brightness and chroma calibration and can generate dedicated calibration coefficients for low-grayscale image areas. This helps maintain consistent brightness, color and detail across an LED display.
HDR10 and HLG Support
The receiving card supports HDR10 in accordance with SMPTE ST 2084 and SMPTE ST 2086, as well as HLG. On a compatible LED control system and display, HDR improves highlight detail, shadow gradation and perceived contrast.
Seam Brightness Correction
Brightness differences along module or cabinet joints can be corrected to reduce visible seams. Adjustments take effect immediately, helping installers achieve a more uniform LED screen after cabinet assembly or maintenance.
Automatic Module Calibration
When a replacement LED module includes flash memory, stored calibration coefficients can be uploaded automatically to the A8s Pro at power-on. This helps the replacement module match the brightness and chroma of the existing display.
Real-Time Bit Error Detection
The A8s Pro monitors Ethernet communication quality and records erroneous data packets. Technicians can use this information to locate unstable network links and troubleshoot communication faults more efficiently.
Professional Image Control
- Low-latency processing for time-sensitive live and broadcast applications
- Pixel-level brightness and color correction
- Independent RGB Gamma adjustment
- 90-degree and free image rotation for flexible cabinet orientation
- 3D display support when used in a compatible NovaStar system
Recommended Applications
The NovaStar A8s Pro is designed for fine-pitch indoor LED displays, rental and staging screens, broadcast studios, control rooms, corporate displays and other installations where consistent grayscale, color accuracy and serviceability matter. Confirm cabinet wiring, hub-board interface, firmware and NovaLCT/control-system compatibility before replacement or integration.
Is the A8s Pro a Sending Card or Receiving Card?
The A8s Pro is an LED receiving card, not a sending card. It is installed inside an LED display cabinet, receives image data from the NovaStar sending device or controller and drives the connected LED modules.

NovaStar A8s Pro FAQ
What is the maximum resolution of one NovaStar A8s Pro?
One A8s Pro supports up to 512 × 512 pixels at 60 Hz.
Does the A8s Pro support HDR?
Yes. It supports HDR10 and HLG. HDR10 support complies with SMPTE ST 2084 and SMPTE ST 2086. The complete LED system must also support the selected HDR workflow.
Can the A8s Pro help match a replacement LED module?
Yes. If the replacement module has flash memory containing calibration coefficients, the card can load those coefficients automatically at power-on to help preserve brightness and chroma uniformity.
How does the card help troubleshoot an LED screen?
Its bit-error detection function monitors Ethernet communication and records error packets, giving technicians a direct signal for diagnosing unstable data links.
